Slack
When someone fills in a form on your site, the right person should know quickly. Posting new inquiries to Slack is one of the simplest ways to make sure they do.
What Slack is
Slack is a messaging app for teams, organized into channels by topic, team or project. It connects to many other tools, so updates from those tools can appear as messages in a channel. Slack Connect lets two companies share a channel.
How it fits on your site
The connection to Slack runs through the tools behind your site.
Through your CRM. Many CRMs, including HubSpot, can post notifications to Slack when a form is submitted or a deal changes.
Through an automation tool. A Zapier automation can post each form submission to a Slack channel, formatted for a quick read.
Through a webhook. Slack’s incoming webhooks accept messages from other systems, which suits simple, one-way alerts.
A common setup looks like this. A demo request on the site creates a contact in the CRM and posts the visitor’s name, company and message to a sales channel, so someone can reply the same day.
Where the scope includes it, we connect your site’s forms to the tools that post to Slack.
What you get
Inquiries from your site posted to the channel your team watches
Messages that show the details that matter, with no clutter
A handover note on what posts where and how to change it
During a project
If your team works in Slack, we can work there too, in a shared channel for the project. Work runs async by default, with calls when a decision needs one, and reviews still happen against the agreed brief.
What to watch out for
Pick one channel per purpose
Inquiries go in a sales channel, and everything else goes elsewhere. A noisy channel gets muted.
Keep personal data in mind
A Slack message copies the visitor’s details into another system. Post what your team needs, and keep the full record in your CRM.
Name an owner
Someone should know where each alert comes from, so it can be fixed when a form or tool changes.
