Kit

Kit is the email tool behind many newsletters and lead magnets. On your site, it turns a sign-up into a subscriber with the right tags and the right first email.

What Kit is

Kit, formerly ConvertKit, is an email marketing platform built for creators and small teams. It handles sign-up forms and landing pages, plus tags and segments for organizing subscribers. Broadcasts cover one-off emails, and sequences send emails over time. Visual automations connect them, for example by tagging a subscriber by the form they used and starting the matching sequence.

How it fits on your site

We use Kit ourselves. Our free guide, “Still explaining your product from scratch?”, signs people up through a Kit form, and Kit emails them the PDF.

On a Framer or Webflow site, there are two common ways to connect Kit.

Kit’s own form, embedded. Kit provides embed code for its forms. It’s the quickest setup, and Kit handles the sign-up, confirmation and tagging. The trade-off is styling, since the form needs work to match your site.

Your site’s form, connected to Kit. The form is designed as part of the page, and submissions go to Kit through a webhook or an automation tool such as Zapier. It matches your site exactly and takes a little more setup.

Where the scope includes it, we design the sign-up into the page and connect it the way that suits your team.

What you get

  • Sign-up forms designed as part of your pages, in your brand

  • A clear connection from each form to Kit, with the tags agreed in scope

  • A handover note on which form sends what, so your team can change it later

The Kit account, the email content and the sequences stay with your team.

What to plan before launch

Name your tags before you build forms

Decide how subscribers will be grouped, such as by lead magnet, topic or source. You can rename tags later, but every automation that uses one needs checking.

Write the first email first

A sign-up with no welcome email wastes the moment. The first email should deliver what the form promised.

Test every form end to end

Submit each one, check the subscriber appears with the right tags and confirm the first email arrives.

Check consent wording

If you email people in regions with strict marketing rules, make sure the form says what people are signing up for. Your legal team decides the exact wording.
