Intercom
If your support or sales team already works in Intercom, the marketing site can use the same Messenger. Visitors ask questions where they are, and the conversation lands in the inbox your team already uses.
What Intercom is
Intercom is a customer service platform. Its Messenger is a chat widget for your website or product. Behind it sit a shared inbox for your team, a help center and Fin, Intercom’s AI agent, which answers questions from your content.
How it fits on your site
On a website, the Messenger runs from a short JavaScript snippet with your workspace ID.
Framer: add Framer’s built-in Intercom component and enter your workspace ID. Place it on the pages where you want the Messenger.
Webflow: add the snippet in the site’s custom code settings, in the footer code. Custom code needs a paid plan.
Visitors on a marketing site are usually anonymous. Intercom treats them as visitors or leads until they share an email. Logged-in users inside your product are a separate setup, owned by your engineers.
Where the scope includes it, we add the Messenger to the pages you choose.
What you get
The Messenger installed on the pages you choose
A handover note on what’s installed and where it’s configured
What to watch out for
Page speed
Chat widgets load a fair amount of script. Test page speed with the Messenger on, especially on phones.
Pick the pages
A chat bubble on every page can compete with Book a call. You can show it only where questions come up, such as pricing and support pages.
One owner
The Messenger’s settings live in Intercom, so the team that answers chats should own them.
Consent
Intercom sets cookies. Check what your visitors’ regions require. Your legal team decides.
