Stripe
When the marketing site needs to take a payment itself, such as for a paid pilot, a workshop or a self-serve plan, Stripe can handle it without building a store.
What Stripe is
Stripe is a payments platform. It processes cards and other payment methods, runs subscriptions and invoices, and can calculate tax. For websites, the simplest tools are Payment Links, which are Stripe-hosted checkout pages made without code, Checkout for products that open a payment page from code, and an embeddable pricing table for subscriptions.
How it fits on your site
Payment Links. A button on a Framer or Webflow page links to a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Stripe handles the payment, the receipt and the confirmation.
Pricing table. Stripe’s embeddable pricing table shows your subscription plans and sends each one to checkout. It goes on either platform through an embed. Test that the checkout opens from the embed, since Stripe’s redirect fails inside some sandboxed frames.
Product billing. In a typical SaaS setup, the pricing page links into your app’s signup, and the app’s own Stripe setup handles billing. Your engineers own that part.
Webflow Ecommerce uses Stripe as one of its two payment providers, alongside PayPal, for stores built in Webflow.
Where the scope includes it, we design the pricing and buy buttons, and connect Payment Links or the pricing table.
What you get
Pricing and buy buttons designed to match the site
Each button connected to the right Stripe link or plan, and tested
A handover note listing each link and where it’s managed in Stripe
What to watch out for
Prices in two places
If prices appear on the site and in Stripe, someone has to update both. The embedded pricing table reads from Stripe, which keeps them in step.
Test mode first
Run every link in Stripe’s test mode before going live.
Tax
Stripe can calculate tax. What you need to collect depends on where you sell, and your finance team decides.
Checkout branding
Stripe-hosted pages take your logo and colors. Set them in Stripe, so checkout matches the site.
