Notion
Plenty of teams already write in Notion. When the content you publish on your site starts life there, it can make sense to connect the two.
What Notion is
Notion is a workspace for documents, wikis and databases. Teams use it for planning, internal docs and content calendars. Its databases hold structured entries, each with properties such as a title, date, status or tag. That makes them a natural source for content like articles, changelogs or job listings.
How it fits on your site
There are two common ways to bring Notion content onto a website.
Sync a Notion database into the site’s CMS. Framer offers a plugin that syncs a Notion database into a CMS collection, so your team writes in Notion and the site updates when the sync runs. In Webflow, the same result comes from a third-party sync app such as Whalesync, or from an automation tool such as Zapier.
Keep Notion as the source and the CMS as the place you publish. Your team drafts and reviews in Notion, then publishes in the site’s CMS. It’s simpler, with one copy step.
Where the scope includes it, we plan the CMS collection so its fields match your Notion properties, and design the pages that display the content.
Content that often starts in Notion:
Changelogs and product updates
Job listings
Articles and guides
Help or FAQ entries
What you get
CMS collections planned around the content your team already writes
Page templates that display that content in your brand
A clear note on where content is written, where it’s published and who does each step
When to connect, and when not to
Connect when Notion is already the source
If your changelog, job listings or articles are written and approved in Notion, syncing saves a copy step.
Skip the sync if your team is happy in the CMS
If your marketing team already writes in the site’s CMS, a sync adds a moving part with little gain.
Match the fields first
A sync is only as clean as the database behind it. Agree the properties before anything is designed.
Check formatting
Rich formatting in Notion doesn’t always carry across exactly. Test a few real entries before relying on it.
