Loom

Some things are easier to show than to write. A short recorded walkthrough lets your team see the reasoning behind a design and come back to it later.

What Loom is

Loom is a tool for recording short videos of your screen, your camera or both, and sharing them as a link. Viewers watch at their own pace, leave comments at a moment in the video and rewatch whenever they need to. Videos can also be embedded in documents and pages.

How recorded walkthroughs help

Every project ends with a handover of files, access and guidance, including a walkthrough where your team makes its routine edits on the call. If your team records it, people who weren’t there can watch it too.

At review. A recorded walkthrough of a design direction explains the choices in context. Your team can watch it before the review, so the conversation starts from the brief.

At handover. A recorded tour of the Framer or Webflow site shows your team how to edit pages, add CMS items and change the parts they’ll touch most. New team members can watch it months later.

For questions. When a written answer would take three paragraphs, a two-minute recording is often clearer.

What you get

  • A walkthrough of what we made and how to run it

  • Your team’s routine edits, made on the call during the walkthrough

What a good handover recording covers

A handover recording is worth keeping when it answers the questions your team will have in three months.

  • How to edit the text and images on a page

  • How to add a new CMS item, such as a case study or an article

  • How to duplicate a page or section and keep the layout intact

  • Where each form sends its data

  • Which parts to check with someone before changing

What to watch out for

Write decisions down as well

A recording explains a decision. The proposal or the guidelines record it, so it can be checked later.

Keep them short

People watch a walkthrough that covers one task. They skip one that covers everything.

Store them where your team looks

Link recordings from your handover notes or guidelines, so people find them when they need them.
